Destination Love Shoot : Melissa + Robbie : Coney Island, New York

This past weekend we fotographed the awesome wedding of Melissa + Robbie at the beautiful Wave Hill in New York. Stay tuned for a future post about that.....but first let me rewind to few weeks back, when we spent the day with this lovely couple on the one and only Coney Island!!! We've always wanted to go to Coney Island because of it's history, and so we were super psyched when Melissa + Robbie told us that they'd like to do something fun together for their Love Shoot....maybe an amusement park....how about Coney Island? There were so many fun places to fotograph them......from the carousel to the famous boardwalk! Before we started though, we grabbed a few drinks. Paul tried a Coney Island Craft Lager.....it had a very cool, freaky label.

20091004_154938_p3-01

Then of course we HAD to get the famous hot dogs at the original Nathan's Famous Hotdogs! Two chili-cheese dogs please! Yum....I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!! After going on some rides, watching Rob win Melissa her Nemo, and walking the boardwalk, we went down to the pier and the beach, where we witnessed (and fotographed of course : ) the most incredible sunset and moon rise I've ever seen!!! We are so excited about the way all of the images turned out...check out some of our favorites below!! If you watch it in slideshow mode, you'll hear the perfect song for this shoot.....can you guess the song?

Robbie + Melissa-- we hope you guys enjoy these images as much as we enjoyed taking them for you, and we can't wait to show you your wedding fotos!!

Love Shoot : Kaitlin + Ash : The Wang Theater, Boston, Massachusetts

A little while ago we met Ash and Kaitlin in Boston for their Love Shoot. Krystal and I were super excited because we knew that we were going to shoot in the Wang Theatre. What we didn't know was what Ash and Kaitlin had up their sleeves :) Just as we arrived we heard from Kaitlin that they decided to theme their shoot after their favorite TV show MAD MEN. Many of you know that we don't really watch TV, so I quickly googled MAD MEN. Who wouldn't want to shoot a theme based around that show! And the surprises didn't stop there. When we were introduced to the theatre manager, we were told we could use the entire theater- yes, indeed- the stage, the dressing rooms- all of it! We were pumped needless to say!

Those of you that are into the visual arts might understand that the next 30sec. Where do you start in such an amazing place?... It was a bit overwhelming at first, but then we focused and rocked it :)

Click here to enjoy Kaitlin + Ash's Love Book design!!!

Here is the front cover of the Love Book!! Mad Men style....

Love Shoot : Sylvia + Stefan : Hammonasset Beach, CT

Paul + I cannot wait for Sylvia + Stefan's wedding this Saturday; this couple is so warm and chill all at the same time, and we know their wedding is going to be great! The first time we met Sylvia + Stefan, we were drawn this couple's contrasting characteristics and how well they complemented one another. Sylvia, we swear, is always happy, postive, with a contagious smile and laugh, and and is incredibly playful. Stefan is very kind, comtemplative, and totally adores his little lady. She thinks she's a big cornball (and she claims she doesn't drink any liquid during mealtime, but that girl put down a whole big soda when we had dinner : ) but we think she is in touch with her inner child, and more people should be like her. The quote "Live, Laugh, Love" could absolutely be her motto. In fact she wore her very favorite earrings that Stefan gave her, which are silver words that say "Live" on one ear and "Love" on the other. She laughs saying that she never wears the fancy diamond ones he also gave her! I laugh saying that she needs to get a nose ring so that she can have "Laugh" hanging from her nose! Stefan swears he never smiles, but Sylvia had him grinning ear to ear the whole time we were fotographing. They are the perfect balance to one other....they are each other's yin and yang. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute we spent together, both fotographing them and just chilling, getting to know them better. Paul + I believe that these "double dates," if you will, are one of the most important things we do in preparing to fotograph our couple's wedding days. By the end of our Love Shoot and day together, we all come away feeling very comfortable with one another, like we have known each other for awhile- like we go "way back". Come wedding day, everyone is relaxed, both the couple in front of our cameras, and Paul + I in fotographing with a better understanding of how to capture the personality of our bride and groom. It's a win-win situation, and we highly recommend a loveshoot if possible if we are fotographing your wedding.

So, on to the fotos of this lovely couple! Because June was so very rainy, we had to postpone Sylvia + Stefan's Love Shoot until the last minute, but we had an incredible time, and the weather was great! One of their favorite spots to hang out together is at Hammonasset Beach State Park so we decided to get together for a late afternoon shoot down at the beach. And we didn't know it at the time, but we were in for a beautiful sunset towards the end of our shoot!

Enjoy Sylvia + Stefan's Love Book design here!!!

....and enjoy Sylvia + Stefan's Love Shoot Slideshow Premier here!

But we first decided to meet up at Lenny and Joe's Fish Tale down by the shore in Madison, CT for some yummy fried food. I was a BIG fan of the fish & chips!!! Sylvia + Stefan frequently grab grub at Lenny & Joe's on beach days, and I definitely know why....it is very yummy : )

20090715_175642_p1

Tail-gating at the Fish Tail....ah, does life get any better than this?

20090715_183957_p1

After the grub, we headed down to Sylvia + Stefan's favorite beach, Connecticut's own Hammonasset! It brought back many childhood memories for me....my parents used to bring me and my siblings there all the time. I hadn't been there for YEARS, but I remembered it quite well.

I did tell you how cute this couple is, right? Well prepare yourselves for CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!!

One of my favorite shots of the year. Ironically enough, I was composing this shot and said out loud that I wished a seagull would fly into the frame. No sooner than I said this, a bird flew into the perfect spot in my compostion! I immediately looked up to the sky and wished for 1 million dollars outloud, but to my dismay, it didn't work : )

Funny enough, there was no food available in the vending machines under this huge sign.

Speaking of yummy, Cold Stone Creamery, which I tried for the first time that night after the beach, was AMAZING!
I'm hooked! Apparently, so are Sylvia + Stefan, whom we followed in our car, and drove there straight after the beach. How very refreshing and sweet!

Sylvia + Stefan, we will see you Saturday- cameras ready- to make some fantastic images of you guys and all your cuteness. Can't wait!!!!

Destination Love Shoot : Jennifer + Pedro : Watch Hill Beach, Rhode Island

We met Pedro + Jennifer back a few months ago, and thought they were a very loving, sweet couple and we couldn't wait to see them again for their love shoot to get to know them better. Jennifer + Pedro love the beach, especially Watch Hill Beach in Westerly, Rhode Island. So Paul + I met up with them to have fun exploring the many great areas there are to see at Watch Hill. They wanted to mix it up a little by dressing up for their beach excursion. It was a nice contrast to the casualness of the beach, and we had a lot of fun with it! Jennifer even wore her sexy heels, and let me tell you, this girl can not only go walking through the grassy fields up by the light house with her heels on, but even more impressive, she could scale the giant boulders down by the shore with them! It was challenging, and she eventually did take them off and go barefoot, but it was impressive that she tried!

Jennifer + Pedro decided they wanted a Love Book of their day at the beach, so I designed them the a beautiful book that they'll have on the wedding day for their guests to sign. Check out the design!

Love Shoot : Emily + Joe

A few weeks back Paul + I spent the day with Emily + Joe for their Love Shoot and to get to know them better before their big day. Emily + Joe are such wonderful, giving, happy people, and we had such a great day with them! Joe planned a whole adventurous day out for us, starting at their property in Woodstock, CT, where the wedding would also be held. Joe's family owns the company LINEMASTERS, which also is on this beautiful property. It was the most gorgeous day....

Click here to enjoy Emily + Joe's Loveshoot Slideshow Premier!

Joe asked us to wait to post their love shoot until after the wedding because he wanted to surprise Emily with a Love Book we made for them at the wedding. Stay tuned for a post coming soon of their wedding day and the romantic way Joe gave Emily the book!

....and playful too.

Emily + Joe just had to try to knock each other off this see-saw. As buff as Emily is, she couldn't budge Joe, but he sure made her get "air." Weee!

2V_sidebyside2

There were some rocking chairs in the little cabin by the pond on the property, so we of course had to bring a few down to the pond so Emily + Joe could relax for a little while.

I love the way Emily is looking at Joe in this one...

Paul grabbed these hot shots of them. Sizzlin'

20090523_125443-k3

For lunch, Joe made reservations for all of us to enjoy a wonderful, out-in-the-country restaurant The Golden Lamb Buttery.
The website of this true gem of a restaurant describes it this way:

"In the quiet corner of Connecticut, lies the quaint town of Brooklyn. High on a hill, a secret hideaway called "The Golden Lamb" is nestled amongst thousands of acres of pristine fields and stone walls - for those with a flair of the finest."

The restaurant is in a renovated old barn, which had the most beautiful soft light pouring in thru the windows.

20090523_153114-k3

Some details, including the decor of the tables and our delicious food : ) We will absolutely visit this place again. We heard that for dinner time, the Golden Lamb folks will take you first on a hay ride around the beautiful property and then back to the barn for a full course meal...what an experience!

L09_L

Some quiet time. The window seats had plenty of cushions for lounging.

20090523_160959-k3

The view behind the Golden Lamb. After a delicitable lunch, it was off to explore the fields and stone walls surrounding the restaurant.
A special thanks to the folks at the Golden Lamb for letting us wander wherever our hearts desired!

On a New England country road.

20090523_162251-p1-2

Spontaneous playfulness.

3V_sidebyside2

These fields are the epitome of what makes New England so breathtaking! We are so lucky to be in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. This is only 25 minutes from our studio (which is also in a quaint little New England country town.) When people ask why we have our studio in the "middle of nowhere," this is why...who wouldn't love the beautiful countryside we are so lucky to live by?

20090523_162649-p1

"Blow" flowers were one of my favorite things growing up, and I'm always excited when others share my enthusiasm for them.
Doesn't it look like magic flying around them?

Did I mention how HOT this couple is? Paul took this sexy shot (along with many, many others in this post).

20090523_173043-p1-Edit

Our next adventure was at the Cat Hollow Park in Killingly, CT, where there are lovely falls and pretty wooded hiking trails.

My perspective of the same moment.

20090523_174416-k7

Not only are Emily + Joe hot, playful, and all around awesome, but they are also adventurous! We wanted to get some shots of them across the stream,
so they ventured down a path for a ways before crossing on a log. And Emily was wearing girly shoes!

20090523_174801-k8

And it was all worth it! Even Joe getting his butt wet for this shot....what a trooper!

Hiking back...

20090523_175619-p3

And crossing the treachous stream again : )

20090523_175822-p3

I love how Joe is holding onto Emily like he'll protect her no matter what.

20090523_175826-k8

As the sun was going down, we visited the Taylor Brook Winery, where Emily adopted a vine in Joe's name. How romantic is that?
They were technically closed, but the wonderful couple who owns the winery, Linda & Richard, were kind enough to let us take some fotographs there. Paul & I need to go back there for a wine tasting some day.

20090523_184319-k9

These vines are pretty young it turns out, but so pretty.

20090523_184431-p3

Something about vineyards is so romantic.

Are final adventure of the day was back to the property in Woodstock...the grounds of the Mansion at Bald Hill. Joe's family also owns the Mansion, which they helped renovate a few years back so that Joel and Scott could open a wonderful bed and breakfast and restaurant. The wedding was held here at the Mansion. This is the way the mansion's website decribes this remarkable place:

"The Mansion at Bald Hill is a historic landmark that has taken on a new life as a premier

restaurant and an elegant Bed and Breakfast. Quietly tucked away in the

"quiet corner" of Northeastern Connecticut, The Mansion is private and

secluded, it offers the perfect setting for that special getaway or event.

The restaurant features an eclectic seasonal menu utilizing local organic farms to provide

our guests with the highest quality ingredients, prepared with passion

and presented with an artistic flair by our team of experienced award-winning chefs.

The home features six exquisite guest rooms with private baths. The ambiance brings you

back to a slower, quieter, more elegant time. The guest rooms offer a soft palate of colors with

distinctive bedding that will envelope you in restful slumber.

Luscious morning breakfasts are served in the formal dining room or on the terrace, where

you are bathed in sunlight and surrounded by peaceful garden splendor."

20090523_185757-k9

Joe proposed to Emily at this exact spot (actually one year to the day from the day we did their Love Shoot), at a tree that he had professionally carved for the occasion and to celebrate their love. How romantic is that?

20090523_185803-p3

Needless to say, this spot and tree are very special to them now. It's so romantic to think in 50 years they can visit this tree and remember back to their wedding day and the day they got engaged!

Staci + Danny: A Love Shoot

This weekend we will be in the Berkshires, at the Cranwell Resort to photograph the wedding of two beautiful people. Meet Staci + Danny, two of the sweetest people you'll meet, and so perfect for each other. You can tell just by watching these two how much they adore each other. When we were brainstorming up ideas for their love shoot, one of the most important things was to make sure they had "snuggle time" together.

Staci + Dan live in the beautiful town of Westport and love to go for spontaneous walks on the beach together, so we started there. It was a slightly chilly, but otherwise "perfect" fall day at the beach, and the clouds were absolutely glorious....or "God clouds" as I kept referring to them as. We stayed there for a while, playing and enjoying the warm sunshine as the sun slowly set. Staci + Dan were such a pleasure to capture...Staci is so playful and warm and you can just tell by watching the joy in Dan's face how much he loves his little lady.

CLICK HERE to watch a SLIDESHOW of Staci + Danny's Love Shoot.

00014_20081021_15-28-04

They love to laugh together...which is something we could all learn to do a little more with our significant others.

00016_20081021_15-28-41-01

00040_20081021_15-33-06-02

Did I mention how petite Staci is? I love how Dan kept spontaneously picking her up...so adorable!

00070_20081021_15-37-38

Did I mention how beautiful the clouds were...and how well they complimented our beautiful couple?

00072_20081021_15-39-36

Staci I hope you can jump in your wedding gown girl!

00081_20081021_15-40-10

Time for a snuggle break.

00083_20081021_15-41-12

00100_20081021_15-44-02

Another one of my favorites from the day. I love how into each other these two are...I think they forgot we were there most of the time (which is the way we like it : )

00200_20081021_16-10-30

Even their feet loved to snuggle.

00226_20081021_16-15-52

Right before we left, we found...yes that's right...SWINGS!

00235_20081021_16-22-38-01

00244_20081021_16-22-59

On our way back to their home, we stopped for a refreshing beverage at the Tavern on Main in Westport, one of their favorites places to relax.

00272_20081021_17-02-41

I continually challenge myself to look at the world from a different perspective, and I love when I find shots in the least obivious of places. Like in the bottom of Staci's wine glass.

00277_20081021_17-06-02

After a yummy beverage it was back home for some SNUGGLE TIME!!!

00325_20081021_18-07-38

00342_20081021_18-10-45

After recharging (and getting all toasty warm by the fire the Dan lit just for snuggle time), it was time to get all dolled up for a night on the town. It was off the South Norwalk or Sono, for a little night life.

00377_20081021_19-10-34-01

00418_20081021_19-30-50

I love how seductive this one is...you can see Staci smiling just a little bit.

00429_20081021_19-32-08-02

One of Staci + Dan's favorite places to chill in the evening hours is at Mario Fontana’s, Ocean Drive. I had a hard time finding a website to link to, but this place is really something to experience. I found a New York Times review of the place online:
"To get that Florida feel while sticking close to home, try Ocean Drive in South Norwalk, whose cool, white nautical interior evokes the style and smarts of South Beach, the hip hangout in Miami. The raw bar and largely seafood menu add to the shore-side illusion. And hanging dramatically from the ceiling is a huge orange and teal hand-blown glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly."

Another one of my favorite shots of the day...seriously sizzlin'! Staci + Dan, thank you for a wonderful time getting to know you guys....we can't wait to see you on Saturday!!

Emily + David: A Love Shoot

You might remember Emily & David from a couple posts ago. Well, they are getting married in a couple days, so we thought we'd put together a post to celebrate their love for one another. We are very much looking forward to capturing these to on one of the must special days of their life!

Emily & David love the Beatles, which I was so excited to learn, because I am a Beatles fanatic myself! So, I had a blast making this SLIDESHOW for them! CLICK HERE to enjoy the show!

Love in an apple orchard. Emily grew up on a cherry & apple farm, so we thought fotographing part of their love shoot at an orchard would be special. So it was off to Bishop's Orchard in Guilford, right down the street from where they lived.

Emily + David's Love Shoot

Emily & David live in a really sweet apartment that used to be a church!

Emily + David's Love Shoot

We were all tuckered out from galavanting, so it was time to relax with some wine and good food. David & Emily love cooking together, so we fotographed them making gourmet pizza. So much fun! And so delicious!

Emily plays the french horn professionally, so we absolutely had to fotograph her ring on her horn....I love the way this shot turned out.

Emily + David's Love Shoot

Occasionally, Emily & David enjoy smoking tobacco pipes together, so we thought going for a stroll after dinner to the park down the road would be fun. The look that Paul & I were going for here was a mysterious, Sherlock Holmes-y kind of look. What do you think?

Emily + David's Love Shoot

I love the way their smoke is interwining here.

I hate cigars & cigarettes, but there is something really truly cool about smoking a pipe. Plus the vanilla tobacco smells so warm & inviting!

We haven't photoshoped a file to have selective color in a long time because we think it can look pretty cheesy, but I couldn't resist with this one. David is into painting, and the paintings on the wall are some of his work. We thought they were fantastic and really added to the space.

The Musician and the Scientist

About a week ago we got to shoot Emily, the musician, and David, the scientist, for their much anticipated "Love Shoot" This awesome couple is getting married in a few weeks.

Ok so we get to ther apartment and we find out they live in a renovated Catholic church. Inside is so cool, David paints and his amazing work is displayed in the living room. We went apple picking for a bit to reminisce about the childhood of Emily, she was raised on a cherry/apple farm out west. Next was dinner, a scrumptious pizza made by none other than Emily and David.

Then after being their official taste testers for the wine at their wedding, 2 Bottles, hey don't judge we had to make sure the red and white was good enough for their wedding:)

Then a relaxing walk while they both smoked a pipe..wait until you see those, there so cool:)

Just before we left I wanted to take advantage of the fun mood and this is what happened:

A Love Shoot: Michelle + Peter

This weekend we are going to be away for Michelle and Peter's fabulous three day wedding in New Jersey! In honor of their upcoming nuptials, we're sharing some of the awesome shots of the day we spent with them in New York City.

Michelle and Peter also had us design a Love Book for them. We really love to make these books for our couples....they are an great way to have collection of the awesome fotos that we take during the Love Shoot that we do for our couples. And they are so much fun to design! Their guests are going to be writing sweet little messages to them on the pages of this book on the wedding day. Click HERE for Michelle and Peter's fabulous Love Book!!!

Here is the cover:

cover

The day of the Love Shoot, Paul and I met up with Michelle and Peter at Norma's in Le Parker Meridien, their favorite breakfast place in the city for some brunch that would blow your mind. Michelle was daring enough to let us put her gorgeous ring in Peter's sticky-sweet breakfast (we really think it was actually dessert in disguise)! Love is sweet!

20080824_12-15-56

After we gorged ourselves on amazing breakfast/brunch, it was off the Central Park to walk off some of the calories!

20080824_13-16-06

On a bench...how much do you think these two love each other? I always LOVE shots tight, intimate shots like this that Paul is so good at getting : )

20080824_13-52-50

One of my new favorite locations to shoot in Central Park is the beautiful, classic Bethesda Terrace area. The tunnel from above is spectacular...

20080824_14-01-07

especially when you have an awesome couple spontaneously dance...

20080824_14-01-25

Inside the terrace is just as beautiful (Michelle and Peter aren't too bad either) hehe :P

We had a blast!

Beautiful...

20080824_15-09-46-01

Inside the tunnel...

20080824_15-12-36

Gorgeous, warm buttery light + gorgeous, playful couple= sweet fotos!

20080824_15-18-53-01

Michelle saw this cute, older couple sitting on a bench, looking still very much in love, and we had to ask them to be in some fotos together.

20080824_15-39-05

This is one of my favorite shots EVER... It goes perfect with one of my favorite quotes from John Lennon...."Grow old along with we, the best is yet to be...." It makes me so teary eyed everytime I look at it.

20080824_15-38-48

After Central Park, was off to the fabulous 5th Avenue for some sexy shots. Check out the cool texture on the front of the Fendi store.... we could rock that all day long! How hot is this couple?

20080824_17-48-20

Sizzlin' HOT!!!

20080824_17-29-34

Fun!!!

20080824_17-36-41-01

Michelle was a good sport to sit in her dress on the NYC sideswalks. We say anything for a great shot....and she agreed!!

20080824_17-51-07-01

Love, love, love, finding awesome walls to use as backgrounds....this building happens to be the Armani Exchange

20080824_17-55-00

20080824_17-56-18

So Michelle and Peter were engaged at Rockfeller Center (while iceskating). So we of course we just HAD to incorporate this location into their love shoot.

Here's a very romantic engagement story: So Peter didn't even know how to ice skate, but managed to propose to Michelle in the most romantic of ways. He brought along Michelle's sister to keep her on the ice right as everyone else was let off. So the rope goes up in front of Michelle so that she and her sister can't get off the ice (kudos to Peter for coordinating this with the skating rink). So sister and Michelle go around the ice one more time and here comes Peter skating into the rink (not one one knee, though he admits that if he were a better skater he would totally have done a Victor Petrenko slide-on-one-knee action for romantic effect.) So he asks a very stunned and excited Michelle to marry him....and she of course says yes!!!! Much to Michelle's surprise the ENTIRE area up above the rink starts to cheer and clap, and Michelle looks up and she's her ENTIRE family and friends witnessing the whole thing!!! How ridiously ROMANTIC is Peter!!!! He should go an award for that proposal....but of course he is getting to marry his love Michelle!

20080824_19-22-07-2

We of course had to go on Top of the Rock to get a spectactular view of the city. Paul & I had never been, so we were very excited to get to see NYC from a different view! It was absolutely amazing, and we planned it just right to get up there at around sunset!!

20080824_18-41-58-01

Peter is from Germany, and Michelle's background is Turkish (but she was born here), so we thought it would be fun to show this somehow.

20080824_19-02-34

Paul took the following two incredible shots (along with about half of the other shots in this post), but I definitely have to give him kudos for these two....how timeless and romantic.

20080824_18-45-12

And check out the reflection caught! This shot reminds of a romantic old movie.

20080824_18-57-55

It got dark quickly, and we thought light (or lack there of) might be an issue, but our next location was the ever famous "Meat Packing District", which we knew we could totally rock with street light!! Michelle and Peter were super excited to shoot here...the idea was to create more moody shots, and also some very stylized, fashion shots.

Here are some of the moody shots we got. This one totally reminds me of an old movie still too. I love trying to get those kind of shots. I can take credit for this one :)

Totally rockin' the graffiti! I love the way that her blue dress coordinates so well with the art.

20080824_20-20-23

Had to work the "red light" too, of course.

20080824_20-53-52

Michelle and Peter both work for Mercedes-Benz....it's actually how they met. So of course we had to take a shot with Michelle's Benz. These two could be models for Mercedes, don't you think?

Our NYC Adventure

Just last week we took the train into NYC for Paul and Kelly's Love Shoot. They had such awesome ideas about where they wanted to go (25 different locations!) and how they wanted to spend their day together. Unfortunately, by the time we got to NY, it was already raining and it was SO humid. But Paul and Kelly were game, and so were we. After a few fotos in Grand Central Station, we headed off to Central Park. Also riding along with us for the day were Kelly's friends Jen, who had only ever been to NYC once before, and Louis, who is a makeup artist for Mac Cosmetics and kept Kelly's makeup looking amazing all day. We trekked across the Park and found a few other great locations to shoot. And then it was off to our next location, the Natural History Museum. We actually had use of a 15-passenger van for the day, and the most amazing chauffeur EVER, Jack, who not only dropped us off at the door step of every location, but was also a New York City Historian. We learned so much NYC trivia! (Did you know that Tribeca got its name because it's the TRIangle BElow CAnal Street?) After fotographing both inside and in front of the Museum, we went back to Central Park to the gorgeous Botanical Gardens. Luckily, the rain had stopped for the moment and we got a ton of really great shots. Next up was the Empire State Building, followed by the pier that has an amazing view of the Statue of Liberty. Paul and Kelly were so great the entire time, laughing and joking and just being their awesome selves. We took some really fun fotos of Paul and Kelly in the Financial District with the Charging Bull, then down by the Subway, on another pier by the Brooklyn Bridge, in the Theater District, and then we finally ended downtown by Times Square. What a whirlwind of a day! We had a blast, though, and Paul and Kelly were such good sports despite the weather and were so much fun to hang with.

Paul and Kelly, thank you for such a fun day! We can't wait for your wedding in September!

Here are a few of our fave fotos from throughout the day.

Jaime + Scott's Love Shoot

A few weeks back we fotographed Jaime and Scott's love shoot at Watch Hill in Rhode Island. We totally lucked out and it was a gorgeous day for a beach shoot. Unfortunately, the directions we had were awful beyond belief and we were driving in circles for what seemed like forever. Luckily though, Jaime, who works at Webster Bank, and Scott, a Corrections Officer, were incredibly patient with us and were ready to start as soon as we got there. We started in the grass and atop the sand dunes which were so beautiful. There was a jetty just past the dunes, and Jaime and Scott were game to take a walk to the end to pose for a few fotos, despite the freezing temperature of the water. They even braved the cold water to get in up to their knees so we could get a few shots with the boats and jetty in the background. We then headed over to the old lighthouse which, unfortunately, was fenced off, but we shot on the gorgeous grassy lawn. Just for a little adventure, we walked around the fence on the rocks to get a better view of the lighthouse and saw an insane amount of washed up Horseshoe crabs. Jaime and Scott were so cute and playful with each other, we absolutely cannot wait for their wedding, to get more fun shots of them!

Jaime and Scott it was so great to spend the day with you, and we absolutely can't wait for your wedding in August!

Kari + Steve's Love Shoot

Kari & Steve are a great couple whose love shoot we photographed in April. They're super fun and down to earth and Kari, who owns Reflections by Kari, is a professional photographer. Their engagement shoot started at a bowling alley because they love to bowl. Unfortunately, the only time the bowling alley had available was 9 am. Steve and Paul joked that it definitely seemed too early to be at the lanes because they couldn't first grab a beer. We still had a so much fun and they're just as goofy as we are. Then we went to Fox Hill Tower where Steve had a chance to show off his gorgeous truck that he takes such amazing care of. We also stopped at Starbucks, which is where they met and had their first date. (How awesome is it that they met on Match.com!?!) After our refreshing ice coffees, we convinced Kari & Steve to be photographed just a little longer, because we were right next to these amazing tobacco barns that I've been dying to shoot in. Kari (and I think Steve) loves old, delapitated barns, so they were game. The shots came out so frickin' awesome if I do say so myself--- I love the rustic, romantic appeal.

Paul & I had such a blast spending the day fotographing Kari & Steve and we are super excited for their wedding in August!!! Thanks guys for just being yourselves and having fun with us!

Kristi + Joe's Love Shoot

In the early spring, we had a fantastically fun engagement shoot up in Killington Ski Resort in Vermont, with our fabulous couple Kristi & Joe. Kristi & Joe are high school sweethearts, avid snowboarders, and have a cute little cabin in Vermont where they get away almost every weekend during the winter. Paul is a good skier, but I've only skied a few times in my life, so he ended up shooting the action shots up on the mountain. I was going to try to ski while we were there, but it was incredibly cold and windy- the kind of wind that takes your breath away. So, I thought it might be best not to kill my unexperienced self. Lucky for me, our good photographer friends Jacklyn & Chris happened to be at Killington for the weekend also, so I spent a couple hours hangin' with them in the lodge while Paul, Kristi and Joe were off taking AWESOME action fotos!!

Paul & I had such an amazing time fotographing and just hanging out with Kristi & Joe. They are such down to earth, awesome people, and we are very much looking forward to their wedding in October.

We were going to set their slideshow to the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's Walkin' in the Sunshine, but had a hard time finding the song. We watched Juno a couple nights ago, and heard this very adorable song by Barry Louis Polisar on the sountrack that reminded us of Kristi & Joe's playful spirt with each other. We thought it fit them perfectly, so enjoy!!

Ann + Walt's Love Book!

Here is a Love Book design I've been working on for our lovely clients Ann & Walt, who's wedding we shot last September. We shot this "Get to Know You" Love shoot to close to their wedding date to be able to order a book for in time for their wedding. Usually our clients use these books for guests to write lovely messages to the couple during cocktail hour, but these books are also just a great way to have a fabulous book of your fun "Get to Know You" shoot. Some couples have been opting for two copies: one to write in, and the other not to. We went sailing with Ann + Walt, which was fantastically fun for both them and Paul & I! We really encourage our brides & grooms to think of a fun activity that they enjoy to do together, or a location that is special to them to spend the day fotographing. Think of us as your own personal paparazzi, but in a good way : )

Here are a few of my fav spreads, and be sure to CLICK HERE for a fabulous, summer breezy slideshow of the whole book!!!!
