On June 6th, our good friends Christine + Zack were married on the beach in Rhode Island. Paul + I were officially guests at this wedding, but Christine asked if I would mind bringing my camera along too. Being a fotographer at heart, I of course wouldn't leave my camera behind; I'd feel naked without my camera in hand on such an important day in my friend's lives. The "official" photographer for the day was our friend Lauren Cooksey and her daughter Tracy, a really sweet mother/daughter team that Christine + I have known for years now.
The day was absolutely picture perfect- breezy, perfect tempature and the ocean as blue as could be! I think I was almost as exited as Christine + Zack to watch them be married as they were to be married! I'd been spending time with Christine , trying to give her feedback as she planned the wedding, and it was so great to see her dream come to fruition on the big day.
I'm so happy for Christine + Zack.... they've known each other since they were little kids, but it wasn't until much later that they found that they were destined to be with one another. They didn't really hang out when they were kids, but it turns out that Christine has a old fotograph one of her birthday parties, and Zack happened to be tagging along with some other friends of Christine's that day! Now here they are 20+ years later, vowing to spend the rest of their lives together. If that's not destiny, I don't know what is! Here is the story of the foto directly from Christine:
Christine having her "face" done.....Erin from Naomi's Studio and Salon did such a wonderful job. Christine is naturally beautiful
without makeup, so Erin only enhanced her natural beauty with stunning, radiant "fresh-look" makeup artistry!
I would recommend all brides in the New England area check out Naomi's Studio & Salon for their wedding day beauty needs.

The dress and all it's prettiness. It was the perfect gown for a beach wedding...perfectly flowy, simple elegance. Just wait until you see how it looks on her!

Christine put a lot of work into all the little details of her wedding. She is very creative and artsy too, and
really put a lot of thought and energy into making the details have that beachy feel.

Christine prepared for the big day in a little cottage suite near the beach at the Breezeway Resort. The colors of the walls and decor of the cottage were perfectly beachy keen (not peachy keen), and really set the scene for the ladies getting ready. How pretty is my little Christine?

The flowers were so fresh and pretty..... Rosanna's Flower's did such a lovely job, and Christine couldn't have been more thrilled with the way her vision turned out. Check out the way the stem of her bouquet is wrapped.....Christine's idea.

Christine looks pretty doing everything.....even talking on the tele.

Zack's momma Sandy, looking all relaxed while watching her future daugther-in-law get ready.

Christine's niece Lexy putting on the bridesmaid necklace that was handmade by one of Christine's good friend Christine.

Cathy, Christine's momma, putting on her finishing touches before helping her daughter dress.

I love this sequence....something about getting on the gown is so emotion, especially when you are very close to your mom. I'm very much looking forward to this part of my day with my mom and sisters. I love that Christine's sister Missy leaned in to give her a kiss and her mom gave her one of the most emotional hugs I've ever seen. These are the moments that make us love what we do so much!

Most of the bridesmaids were from my hometown of East Hampton.....how pretty do they all look while watching their friend get into her gown?

I love this natural moment as well.

Isn't Christine one of the prettiest brides ever? Zack gave her his wedding gift early because he was so excited to give it to her. Isn't that just the cutest?
His gift was a beautiful, elegant pearl necklace and Christine decided to wear it like a bracelet on the wedding day.

Look at those lashes....

It was a little tough to put on the bracelet because everyone had had their nails done, but it finally was clasped securely.

Paul + I made our way over to the beautiful ceremony site on Weekapaug Beach to grab some shots of Zack and his guys. Check out the sign that Christine made to show guests the way.....again attention to the details. I love the beach roses in full bloom lining the path to the beach.

The handsome groom and his men.

Apparently these guys have stock in Captain Morgan! Haha! This was totally un-coached.

They're suits were so beachy.....so J. Crew.....I love the colors Christine choose. The ocean water was unreal that day too
.....so Carribean blue.....and matched perfectly with the guys ties.

Totally stud-ly!

We of course had to go up on the dunes for some shots in the sea grass.

Beachy details of the ceremony site.

The ladies coming down the aisle to witness the marriage. Everyone was barefoot....the way a beach wedding should be.

This is my hands down favorite shot of the day.....it gives me goose bumps (in a good way) every time I look at it : )

Zachary watching is breathtaking bride make her way down the aisle to him. He was trying his hardest not to tear up.

The archway that Zack and Christine made for their ceremony was so perfect.....flowy and breezy.

This one melts my heart....the way Zack is gazing at the woman he loves.

Okay, another favorite of the day.....Zack's parents watching as their son is married. I knew I was going to love this fotograph the second I captured it.

The day was so dramatic.....the soft breeze, the sky, the ocean with it's huge waves!

The groomsmen watching their buddy take his vows.

...and the ladies standing by their friend's side as she marries the man she loves.

How content and calm. Here Christine's friend Jen is reading to them a beautiful poem called the "Blessing of the Hands." It was so beautiful it gave me chills!

A fish-eyes view of the ceremony. Doesn't it look like they are getting married in the Caribean rather than on a New England beach?

A super sweet moment....

The pathway leading down to the beach, where all the ladies left their sandals.

Eddie, owner of Photo Images, a professional photo lab in East Hartford, watches. Christine and I met at Eddie's lab, where we both worked for many years.
We are like the daughters Eddie never had, which is why he looks like a proud parent here.

The beautiful Christine smiling at her man right before placing the ring upon his finger. I had to remove the microphone and stand from this shot because it was so distracting....I don't think you'd ever be able to tell it was there : ) Photoshop wizardy comes in handy every once in a while....

Aww.....the ring exchange....such a wonderful, happy moment

Cathy and her man Bob watching gleefully!

....and the very romantic kiss!

Paul's perspective of the very romantic kiss....also very romantic.

Paul had a great angle of the newlyweds as they walked off together......Mr. & Mrs. Pearson!!!

Yippeeee!!!

How happy!!!!

"Come....let's run away together!"

Christine's sister Missy and Zack's best man Jon. Zack, Jon and I all graduated from East Hampton High in 1995. Christine was a freshman when we were seniors!
Zack was Jon's best man about 5 years back.
That was about the same time Christine and Zack finally started dating!

A very smily Brandy, Christine's cousin that is more like another sister to her, regardless of living far away in Arizona. She came out not only
to be part of the wedding, but also to attend the very fun bacholarette party a few weeks before the wedding!

A big romantic hug to seal the deal.

Another great photographer Maggie Conley, whom Christine works for a couple days a week attended the wedding too, along with her husband
Norm, whom was the officiant of the ceremony. They are such a sweet couple, and Norm did a wonderful job with the ceremony!

The couple's sandals....

More beachy details of the ceremony. Christine left no stone unturned (or should I say- shell?) when it came to creating the perfect details.

The Mr. + Mrs. back down to the beach for some portraits.

Surrounded by the bridal party....Christine + Zack are such likable, awesome people, it's no wonder the have so many great friends.

Christine with the beautiful ladies!

What do you think? Is Zack a happy man or what?

Christine with her good friend Lorel. Several years ago we fotographed Lorel and her husband Ken's wedding, and Christine was
her maid-of-honor. I can't help but smile when I see these.

I don't think it's possible to be happier than this.....

So romantic....

Simply elegant.....

....and timeless.....

Another cool fotograph of the sandals : )

How fotogenic is this couple....come on!

I love this fotograph too...

A little vintage apeal.....

Lauren Cooksey grabbed the next two shots of us together. Paul + I with our friends! Yay! Aren't we cute?

Not sure what we were talking about here, but it must have been amusing. On second thought we might have been telling them how happy we were for them!!!

Arriving at the Andrea Hotel for the reception...

Christine's other best friend Christine (yes that's right-they have the same name) with her husband Jon (Zack's best man). Christine is such a little ball of energy, and her smiles are so contagious. She's the kind of person you like instant you meet her. Aren't they so cute?

More details for your viewing pleasure....the table settings were simple, elegant, and perfect! And check out the
beaded detail on the bridesmaid flowers.....Christine did that!

The steel drums were the perfect thing to set the tone of the reception. They instantly transport you far away to some tropical island.
Jose also played before the ceremony and as everyone came down the aisle.

Introducing.....Mr. + Mrs. Pearson!

Happiness is dancing with your hubby or wife for the first time.

Their first dance song was "Better Together" by Jack Johnson- perfect!

HOT! HOT! Oh, did I mention....HOT!

Dancing with dad....

...and mom too....

The cupcakes and cake were awesome. I ate a cupcake on our drive home, and boy oh boy, was it GOOD! I think the sugar might have kept me awake for the drive too...

Isn't this the coolest "sign-in" item you've ever seen? Very original, Christine.

Jon gives his heart-felt best man toast.

Cutting the, yes you guessed it, CAKE.

Not sure if Zack expected this one coming! Go Christine (what did he do at his bachelor party again?-hehehe)

This much fun should be illegal....

Paul + I having a little too much fun.....we are like this at other weddings too : ) Just kidding, but we are a lot of fun : ) Thank you to
Tracy Cooksey for grabbing our camera to take these shots.....us fotographers rarely get shots of our selves : )

Ya, that's right.....we can be stinkin' cute too ; )

Even the parental-units were having the time of their lives!

An emotional shot of Zack hugging his pops.....I have another one with Zack wiping away tears, but I didn't want to embarass the poor guy ; )

"When Zack's mom was working, or going to school, to become a nurse (can't remember which?) she had her friend Kate watch Zack. Well, it just so happened that Kate was a good family friend of ours, and we grew up playing with her two boys.
So, long story short... one day when Zack and I first got together, I was showing him pictures from one of my mothers many family albums..I came across this picture of one of my birthday parties at our old blue house...and I kept looking at it because there was something about how the little cutie sitting behind me was resting his arm..very similar to how someone I know sits (that's when you know you have lived with someone a long time!)...low and behold...it was Zack!!! At my birthday party!! I never knew we hung out...but apparently, Kate was watching Zack that day and so he tagged along with Kate's two boys...we confirmed that it was by showing our parents the picture.
And there we were, sitting right next to each other...cupcakes blazing...hence why we had cupcakes at our wedding ...teehee...crazy how things work out :)"

Blessing of the Hands
these are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day,
as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever.
these are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other.
these are the hands that will work beside you to help build the foundation of your life together.
these are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow, and as in today, tears of joy.
these are the hands that will help you to hold your children and unite your family as one.
these are the hands that will give you strength when you truly need it.
these are the hands that will guide you as you travel together to unfamiliar destinations.
these are the hands that will hold you as you walk together on sandy beaches…near and far…they will
balance while you walk across the rock jetty to catch a glimpse of the sun setting over the ocean.
and last, these are the hands that even when you are wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours,
still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.
